CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's basketball (14-7, 8-7 MIAA) knocked off Washburn (13-9, 10-6 MIAA) in a 77-60 game on Monday.

Four Hillcats finished with double figures in the win. Devin Pullum led all scorers with 23 points as well as four rebounds and two assists. Gerren Jackson put up a season-high 17 points with six rebounds and a steal. Jordan Coblin continued his stretch of excellent play off the bench with 16 points, shooting 8-for-8 from the free throw line, and dishing out a team-high four assists with two steals. Brewster Peacock contributed 10 points with three rebounds and two assists.

The first half was a tightly contested period with nine lead changes and eight ties. The game began with both teams trading points, but RSU eventually came out on top with a five-point lead at 18-13 at 11:52. The Ichabods responded and eventually took their largest lead of the game at 32-26 with 4:36 left in the half. RSU bounced back and closed out the period on a 15-2 run, including back-to-back threes from Pullum with under a minute left to carry a 41-34 advantage into the locker room.

Washburn continued to battle at the beginning of the second half as they opened on a 10-2 run to briefly retake the lead 44-43. However, in the final 13 minutes the Hillcats cranked up the defensive intensity and smothered the Ichabod offense, out shooting them 34-16 to end the game and cruise to a 77-60 victory.
