LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rogers State softball moved up to No. 6 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday.
 
RSU remains the second highest ranked team from the MIAA behind No. 4 Central Oklahoma and ahead of Washburn, who sits one spot outside of the top 25. They also are the second highest ranked team from the Central Region ahead of No. 12 Augustana and No. 16 Minnesota State.
 
Last week, the Hillcats went 3-1 with a mid-week win over Harding and split a doubleheader with Emporia State in the road finale. Andrea Morales was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 in the circle while not allowing a run and only allowing three hits with 20 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched. Abbey Rogers was additionally named MIAA Player of the Week after going 5-for-12 at the plate in the four games for a .471 average with nine RBI and three home runs.
 
The Hillcats return to action on Friday, April 29 as they face off against Fort Hays State to begin the final homestand of the regular season. First pitch for the doubleheader is set for 3 p.m.
