KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rogers State softball's
Andrea Morales earned her second-straight MIAA Pitcher of the Week honor, the league announced on Monday. This is her fourth such award this season.
Â
The El Paso, Texas native was untouchable going 3-0 in the circle last week with a back-to-back perfect game and no hitter against Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney. On Friday, Morales tossed her first career perfect game, second in school history, getting 14 of the 21 outs by way of strikeout. She then turned around and threw a no-hitter, her third and seventh in school history, on Saturday with 15 strikeouts and was one walk away from a second perfect game. Then, in the second game against the Lopers, she finished out the final 5.0 innings and earned the win with 10 strikeouts and only allowed one hit.

The Hillcats will begin their postseason journey as the No. 3-seed in the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday, May 4 in a first-round matchup against No. 6-seed Missouri Southern. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
