INDIANAPOLIS – Rogers State softball's Andrea Morales and women's golf's Jessica Green have been nominated for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, the organization announced on Thursday.
 
Morales and Green are two of 127 Division II student-athletes to be nominated for this prestigious award and two of five MIAA student-athletes.
 
Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award is rooted in Title IX and recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their NCAA eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.
 
A native of El Paso, Texas, Morales finished her career at RSU leading the Hillcats to the 2022 NCAA Division II Softball National Championship. The senior became the first NFCA National Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-American in school history. In her five years on the Hill, Morales broke every pitching record in school history and finished her final season with a NCAA-best 38-4 record and 1.20 ERA in the circle. She is one of only 17 NCAA Division II pitchers in history to log 110 wins and 1,000 strikeouts and was only one of two active pitchers across all levels of the NCAA (I, II, III) to accomplish this feat, joining Division I USF's Georgina Corrick. Morales graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology and was multi-time conference honor roll recipient.
 
Green finished her career leading the Hillcats to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship for the second-straight season and earned WGCA All-Central Region honors for her performance. In her fifth season on the Hill, the Cape Town, South Africa native finished third in the MIAA Championships and was named First Team All-MIAA. Green earned her bachelor's degree in fitness management and was named a WGCA All-American Scholar as well as a multi-time conference honor roll recipient.
