KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rogers State women's golf has been picked second in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced on Thursday.
The Hillcats were slotted to finish second with four first place votes and 91 total points. RSU returns a bulk of their team from last season, only losing
Jessica Green to graduation, and add one newcomer in freshman
Brianna Maddux. Last year, the Hillcats made their second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship and finish fourth at the MIAA Championships.
Central Missouri was picked as the favorites to win the league with six first place votes and 94 points. RSU, defending MIAA Champions Nebraska-Kearney (82 points), Central Oklahoma (one first place vote, 77 points) and Northeastern State (64 points) rounded out the top five.
Missouri Western (42 points), Northwest Missouri (41 points), Fort Hays State (40 points), Missouri Southern (38 points) and Newman (26 points) closed out the top 10. Lincoln was also featured in the poll with 10 points.
The Hillcats will kick off the 2022-23 campaign in Catoosa, Okla. as they compete in the 2022 NSU Women's Classic at Cherokee Hills Golf Club.
