RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Rogers State men's soccer's
Luke Morgan has been named the GAC/MIAA Midfielder of the Year along with nine other Hillcats who earned All-GAC/MIAA honors, the league announced on Thursday.

A product of Nottinghamshire, England, Morgan earned Midfielder of the Year and his second-straight First Team All-GAC/MIAA honors. The senior finished the regular season ranked second in the league with seven assists and totaled three goals for 13 points and scored RSU's lone penalty goal in a 2-1 win at Ouachita Baptist in October.

He was joined on the First Team by
Marcos Vasallo and
Sebastian Hernandez. Vasallo finished his junior campaign leading the Hillcats and tying the league lead with 12 goals along with four assists for 28 points. The Madrid, Spain native also ranked second in the league after scoring four game winning goals. Hernandez anchored an RSU defense that earned six shutouts. The Broken Arrow, Okla. product also scored once and earned three assists for five points.

Declan Viljoen,
Trindon Turner,
Artur Carvalho and
Grant King all headlined the Second Team. A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Viljoen completed his junior campaign ranked second in the league with a .782 save percentage and a 1.16 goals against average while earning three clean sheets. Turner was an important piece of the fierce Hillcat back line while also scoring four goals on the season. Carvalho also played a vital role for the RSU defense and earned two assists. The fifth-year senior captain, King earned an assist from the midfield after starting in all 18 matches during the regular season.

George Robinson,
Hugo Martin and
Matthew Sweetman were all named All-GAC/MIAA Honorable Mentions. A product of Maidstone, England, Robinson finished second on the team with eight goals and three assists for 19 points, including two hat tricks against Fort Hays State. Martin, a native of Malaga, Spain, scored five goals with four assists for 14 points. Hailing from Portsmouth, England, Sweetman finished second on the team with six assists while scoring one goal for eight points as a defender.

In addition to his All-GAC/MIAA honor,
Trindon Turner also garnered the league's Elite Scholar Athlete Award, holding a sterling 4.00 GPA in business administration.
Blake Classen,
Sebastian Hernandez and
Grant King were among seven student-athletes to earn Distinguished Scholar Athlete Awards for their performance in the classroom.

The Hillcats will face off against No. 3-seed Fort Hays State in the GAC/MIAA Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
