CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball will officially embark on the 2023-24 campaign and begin the
Heather Davis Era as they host the Holiday Inn Express Classic beginning on Friday.
In her first season at the helm, Davis returns six players from the 2022-23 season, including starters
Kaya Goldsby and
Trinity Jackson. The Hillcats also brought in seven newcomers including Division II transfers
Alyza Aikins and
Alayzha Knapp. Knapp joins RSU after transferring from fellow MIAA school Central Oklahoma, where she averaged 10.1 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Bronchos last season.
In the season opener on Friday, Nov. 10, RSU will take on MSU Moorhead in the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. with the game being broadcast on KRSC 91.3 FM locally and RSURadio.com and the MIAA Network online. The two teams last met in the MIAA/NSIC Conference Challenge hosted by MSUM last season with the Dragons coming away with the 63-40 win.
The Hillcats will then face off against Northern State in the final game of the Holiday Inn Express Classic on Saturday, Nov. 11. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. with the game being broadcast on KRSC 91.3 FM locally and RSURadio.com and the MIAA Network online. Last year, the Wolves claimed a 67-46 win over RSU in the fourth meeting all-time at the MIAA/NSIC Conference Challenge.
