LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rogers State softball remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Still receiving all 16 first place votes, the Hillcats rank ahead of two other MIAA schools including No. 9 Central Oklahoma and No. 18 Washburn. Three other Central Region teams were featured in the poll, including No. 7 Southern Arkansas as well as Harding and Oklahoma Baptist, who received votes.

The Hillcats went 2-0 in their only action last week with a mid-week sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State. RSU took the first game 7-0 behind a grand slam from
Jaylan Gibson with
Sara Llamas-Howell and
Courtney Hill working a combined shutout only allowing two hits with 10 strikeouts. They won the second game 7-1 with another great performance at the plate with Gibson going 2-for-3 with three RBI and another home run.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Thursday, February 30 as they travel to Clermont, Okla. to compete in the Spring Games. Their first game against California (Pa.) is set for a 10:30 a.m. first pitch.
