CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's basketball (4-18, 2-14 MIAA) fell 72-48 against Northeastern State (4-18, 2-14 MIAA) on Saturday.

With 13 points in the game,
Bailey Kliewer reached rarified air as she became the fourth Hillcat in school history to join the 1,000-point club with 1,003 career points. She joins Logan Froese (1,182 points), Hunter Peterson (1,119 points) and Lauren Schuldt (1,079 points) in the exclusive group.

Kamryn Estell led RSU in scoring with both putting up 13 points. Kliewer added seven rebounds, an assist and a steal while Estell added a rebound and an assist.
Trinity Jackson contributed a team-high eight rebounds with six points and a block.

The Hillcats stumbled out of the gate as the RiverHawks opened the game on a 9-2 run. However, RSU bounced back quickly as they ripped off a 7-0 run of their own to tie things at 9-9. NSU responded by closing out the quarter on a 6-3 run to carry a 15-12 lead into the final 10 minutes of the half.

The second quarter saw the RiverHawks open the period on a 13-4 run to take their largest lead of the half at 27-16. The Hillcats battled back to cut the deficit to 28-21 with 3:59 left in the half. NSU still managed to outscore RSU 21-16 in the period and carried a 36-28 lead into the break.

The second half was all RiverHawks as they outscored the Hillcats 20-12 in the third quarter and opened the period on a 9-0 run. Holding a 56-40 margin going into the fourth quarter, NSU outscored RSU 16-8 to take the 72-48 win.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 9 as they welcome Northwest Missouri to the Claremore Expo Center. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
