LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rogers State softball checked in at No. 9 in the latest NFCA Coaches Poll, the organization announced on Tuesday.
 
The Hillcats remain the second-highest ranked MIAA school behind No. 4 Central Oklahoma and ahead of No. 25 Missouri Southern. Three other Central Region teams were featured in the poll, including No. 16 Harding, No. 17 Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Arkansas, who received votes.
 
Last week, RSU went 3-1 while closing out the regular season on the road with a win over Fort Hays State and a sweep of Nebraska-Kearney. They opened the trip splitting the doubleheader with a 6-1 win and 1-0 loss to the Tigers before rolling to 14-6 and 4-0 sweep of the Lopers.
 
The Hillcats will begin their postseason journey on Wednesday, May 3 as they take on Missouri Western in the first round of the MIAA Tournament at the Envista Softball Complex in Topeka, Kan. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
