CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Five Rogers State women's golf student-athletes have been named Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars, the organization announced on Thursday.

Ellen Loving,
Brianna Maddux and
Jaelynn Unger all received the honor after their excellent work in the classroom during the 2022-23 season. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. Recipients must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and played in 50% of the team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year through the team's conference championship.

These five were among 23 total MIAA student-athletes to earn this honor. The Hillcats tied with Northwest Missouri for the most student-athletes featured on the list. All five were also named to the MIAA Honor Roll this year, with Flores, Loving and Maddux all earning the MIAA Academic Excellence Award with sterling 4.00 GPAs. Ayal and Loving also earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete awards.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 700 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
