TULSA, Okla. – Rogers State women's golf won The Tulsa Cup on the final day of competition on a windy Tuesday.
Â
"2024 Tulsa Cup Champions is a great way to close out our fall season," said Head Coach
Whitney Hocutt. "Lydia lead the way for us all three rounds and she stayed steady and consistent. I am proud of her for adding this to her winning resume as a senior."
Â
After three rounds at the Par 72, 5,904 yard Club at Forest Ridge, the Hillcats won the tournament with a card of 913 (+49). This is the first time RSU has won this tournament since they began hosting it in 2021.
Â
"The windy conditions were a true test for all competitors and our ladies' grit really shined through," continued Hocutt. "They never let the conditions get to them and fought for each shot. One main thing we talk about is fight for each other, every shot counts. That is exactly what our entire team did this week. It was a big team win and I am very proud of our ladies. We started the fall with a win, and it was a great way to end it that way too. I am looking forward to our spring season. Thank you to The Club at Forest Ridge, Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center, and RSU Athletics."Â
