RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Rogers State men's soccer's Erik Hjertsson has been named GAC/MIAA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
 
A product of Malmo, Sweden, Hjertsson led the Hillcats to a 1-0-1 record last week at home with a win over Newman and a draw with No. 17 Fort Hays State. In the 5-2 win over the Jets, the senior scored the second goal of the match and later assisted on RSU's final goal. Against the Tigers on Saturday, Hjertsson scored the equalizing goal in the 1-1 draw in the 33rd minute.
 
RSU returns to action on Thursday, Nov. 7 as they begin the final road trip of the regular season with a stop in Tahlequah, Okla. for a faceoff against archrival Northeastern State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
