EDMOND, Okla. – Rogers State baseball (21-18, 12-15 MIAA) fell 8-2 in the series finale to No. 18 Central Oklahoma (32-10, 18-9 MIAA) on Sunday.

The Bronchos got their offense going early as they took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off a solo shot to right center.

They added four runs in the third to push out to a 5-0 lead. A RBI single to left brought in the first run with a bases clearing, three-run triple to left center to cap off the frame.

The Hillcats got on the board in the fourth to trim the lead to 5-1 thanks to a solo bomb to straightaway center from
Matthew Delgado.

UCO got the run back in the fifth as they went back up 6-1. The run came in on a fielder's choice to second. They tacked on another run in the sixth with a single up the middle.

RSU put their second run on the board in the top of the eighth to trim the deficit to 7-2.
Jake Mitchell drove in
Richie Ponce with a RBI groundout to short.

The Bronchos sealed the 8-2 win in the bottom half of the frame with a RBI single to right.

Caleb Burchfield (5-2) earned the win.
Nate Wohlgemuth (1-5) took the loss.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Tuesday, April 16 as they begin the final four-game homestand of the regular season with a non-conference, mid-week matchup against Southern Nazarene. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
