Hillcat Preview: October 20 – October 26

CLAREMORE, Okla. – All fall sports teams are in action, as conference championship season has arrived.

LOOKING TO MAKE STRIDES AT SHANGRI LA
The RSU men's golf team returns to action after a three-week break. The team will travel to Shangri La Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma, to compete in the MSSU Fall Invitational on Monday at 8:15 a.m. and Tuesday at 9 a.m. Dylan Ros, Kobsak Phisitbuntoon, Aiden Deng, Maddox Bullen and Callum Brown will represent the Hillcats in this final tune-up event before the Tulsa Cup, which takes place on October 27-28 at Indian Springs CC in Broken Arrow.

GETTING A SNEAK PEAK OF THE REGIONAL COURSE
The 21st-ranked RSU women's golf team will have one last tune-up before the Tulsa Cup, which takes place at The Club at Forest Ridge on Oct. 27-28. They will compete in the Regional Preview hosted by Missouri Western at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Monday at 11 a.m. and Tuesday at 9 a.m. Brianna Maddux, Lauren Anderson, Lou Fourdan, Milena Andres, Rylan Ashley and Lara Foigel will represent the Hillcats.

SUNFLOWER STATE ROAD TRIP
The No. 14 Rogers State men's soccer team (9-1-3, 5-1-1 GAC/MIAA) will travel to Kansas for a pair of rematches against Newman and No. 6 Fort Hays State this week. The action begins on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Wichita, where the Hillcats will face Newman. On Oct. 4, Rogers State defeated the Jets 3-1 in Claremore. The week wraps up with a highly anticipated rematch against sixth-ranked Fort Hays State, which handed the Hillcats their only loss of the season, 4-0, on Oct. 2 at Soldier Field.

CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY FOR CROSS COUNTRY
Rogers State cross country will travel to Pittsburg, Kansas, for the 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championships at Four Oaks Golf Course. The No. 30 women's team, which finished as the runner-up at the meet last season, will start at 10 a.m. This season, the women have secured two team victories, with sophomore Amy Morefield winning the individual title in both races. The men's team will compete at 11 a.m.; they finished ninth last year in St. Joseph. Sophomore Nathaneal Gibson has led the men's team this season with first- and third-place finishes.

FOR THE SENIORS
The Hillcat women's soccer team (1-5-6, 1-3-3 MIAA) will host its final home games of the season this Friday against Newman and Sunday against Central Oklahoma. Friday's match against the Jets at 7 p.m. will serve as Senior Day. Before the contest, Courtney Castleberry, Brooke Hartshorn, Emily Hartshorn, Keiana Jones, Kenzie Macklin, Jaynie Rust, Amber Arnold, Delana King and Hannah Schulze will be honored. Central Oklahoma will come to town for the final home match of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m.
