OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Rogers State's
Kristin Finley and Jacob Groblebe represented the Hillcats at the 2026 Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association (OBEA) Student Awards Presentation on Thursday afternoon, held at the Okana Resort in OKC.
"I am extremely proud of Kristin and Jacob for receiving this well-deserved recognition," said
Dr. Chris Ratcliff, Rogers State Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. "They go above and beyond in everything they do—not just for our gameday broadcasts, but for the department as a whole. I'm excited to see what the future holds for them."
The duo received second place in the sports magazine/talk program category for a pregame interview with RSU men's soccer head coach Jake Simpson before the homecoming match against Newman. Additionally, Groblebe earned first place in the sports play-by-play category for a highlight reel of his calls this season for Rogers State men's and women's soccer.
Finley is a first-year Graduate Assistant for Digital Media at RSU, working toward an MBA in sports management. The Kenyon, Minnesota, native brings extensive experience in graphic design and game day broadcasting to the athletics department. She also serves as a statistician and writer for both the Hillcats and the Tulsa Drillers. Prior to joining the Hillcat family, she was a valuable member of the volleyball team and a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member at Alfred University in Alfred, New York.
"This year showed what can happen when you fully commit to a shared vision, and it was an honor to build that alongside Jacob," Finley commented. "The dedication he brings to every call, paired with the work behind the scenes, makes this recognition especially meaningful. From production to play-by-play, every broadcast took preparation and trust, and it's been exciting to see that pay off. I'm proud of what we've built together and can't wait to see Jacob continue to shine as a broadcaster and earn many more awards."
Groblebe is a senior at RSU, majoring in broadcasting and new media. A native of Brighton, Colorado, he has been a part of many memorable moments behind the mic, including every NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament game at Soldier Field this past postseason, as a student broadcaster for RSU Athletics and a producer at RSU Radio. Additionally, Groblebe has experience providing play-by-play coverage at the high school level in Oklahoma.
"It's really exciting to win the OBEA sports play-by-play category for the second year in a row, along with placing second in the sports magazine/talk program," Groblebe remarked. "Sports commentary in the MIAA and GAC has a very high standard, and it feels good to know that I'm able to live up to that standard. I owe a lot of that success to Kristin. She produced most of the games I commentated on this year for RSU, and she deserves a lot of credit."
