Fifty-Nine Hillcats Earn MIAA Newcomer Academic Honors

RSU had 12 student-athletes claim prestigious honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA conference office released its newcomer academic honors for the 2025-26 seasons on Tuesday, and Rogers State had 59 true freshmen and first-year transfers recognized for their excellence in the classroom.

Erica Ross (softball), Riley Pauley (men's cross country/track and field), Bella Holland (women's soccer), Taylor Mendez (women's soccer) and Reagan Fowler (women's basketball) have earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award after achieving a perfect 4.00 GPA. They are part of 145 student-athletes in the conference to receive this distinction.

Seven student-athletes from four different sports were honored as MIAA Newcomer Scholar-Athletes. A Scholar-Athlete is an individual who maintains a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and receives All-MIAA honors. RSU scholar-athletes included Damon Anderson-Wolf (baseball), Dillon Dibrell (baseball), Nathan Gutierrez (baseball), Jaden Jordan (softball), Kinsley Hill (softball) and Lou Fourdan (women's golf).

A total of 1,337 newcomers from across the league were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. To qualify for this honor, a newcomer must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.00 over two completed semesters (excluding summer terms) at their current MIAA institution. The RSU baseball team led the Hillcats with 10 recipients, followed by softball with nine.
