RSU men's basketball will open the 2025-26 season in Skiatook for the GAC/MIAA Challenge, and the women will head down to Weatherford for the GAC/MIAA Crossover. Also, No. 17 men's soccer will begin the postseason in Hays, Kansas, for the GAC/MIAA Tournament.

CONFERENCE TOURNEY TIME
No. 17 (2) Rogers State men's soccer (12-2-4, 8-2-2 GAC/MIAA) will face the (3) Newman Jets (7-5-6, 4-4-4 GAC/MIAA) in the GAC/MIAA conference semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. The match will take place at FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays, Kansas.
The matchup between the Hillcats and Jets will mark their 24th all-time meeting, with Rogers State holding a 15-5-3 advantage in the series. Notably, RSU is unbeaten in its last 12 encounters, posting an 11-0-1 record since Oct. 19, 2019.
This season, the Hillcats secured a 3-1 victory over Newman on Oct. 4 in Claremore, with goals from Harkaran Sahota, Oliver Hemlin and Brandon O'Rourke. In Wichita, Hemlin scored again against the Jets, but the game ended in a 1-1 draw after the Jets equalized in the 68th minute.
The winner of the match will face either top-seeded Fort Hays State (15-0-3, 11-0-1 GAC/MIAA) or in-state rival Northeastern State (5-6-1, 8-7-3 GAC/MIAA) in the championship game on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m.

Rogers State men's basketball will open the 2025-26 season this Friday and Saturday at Skiatook High School for the GAC/MIAA Regional Challenge.
The Hillcats are coming off an impressive 23-10 record (13-6 MIAA) from last season, which saw them advance to the MIAA Tournament Semifinals. As a result, RSU was picked second in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll—marking the highest ranking in program history.
They will face Ouachita Baptist in the season opener on Friday at 6:30 p.m. OBU finished second in the GAC last season with a 22-8 overall record (16-6 GAC) and was picked to finish seventh in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, receiving 64 points.
Rogers State holds a 3-0 series lead over Ouachita Baptist. Last season, RSU defeated OBU 85-70 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Anthony Marshall Jr. led the team with 18 points, while Caden Fry contributed 15 points and nine rebounds and Andrew Mason added 12 points and five rebounds.
The invitation will conclude on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Harding. The Bison ended the 2024-25 campaign with a record of 22-10 (15-7 GAC) and were picked to finish third in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 95 points and a first-place vote.
Last season marked the first meeting between the Bison and Hillcats, with Harding taking the game 79-78 in Little Rock. Fry scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Hamilton also contributed 15 points and four rebounds. Jabryn Anderson finished with 11 points, five assists and five rebounds, and Sam Davidson added 10 points.
In addition to RSU playing, Arkansas-Fort Smith will take on Harding on Friday at 4 p.m., and the Lions will also take on Ouachita Baptist at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Skiatook High School.

DAVIS' SQUAD HEADS TO WEATHERFORD
Hillcat women's basketball will open the 2025-26 season with a pair of regional matchups against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist. The games are scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m., as part of the GAC/MIAA Crossover Invite in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at the Pioneer Event Center.
RSU is coming off an 8-20 season (2-17 MIAA) and was picked 13th in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll with 28 points. The team returns four of its five starters from last season and adds four newcomers.
They will face Southwestern Oklahoma State in their season opener on Friday. SWOSU concluded last season with a 16-13 record (12-10 GAC) and was ranked third in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 106 points and three first-place votes.
Last season marked the first time the Hillcats and Lady Bulldogs met. Southwestern claimed the game with a final score of 71-60 at the Claremore Expo Center. Ella Hafer led RSU with a double-double, tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaiana Wiggins contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
The weekend will conclude with another regional challenge on Saturday against the Oklahoma Baptist Lady Bison. OBU finished the 2024-25 season with a strong 20-9 record (16-6 GAC) and was voted fifth in the GAC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 76 points.
This will be the 20th all-time meeting between RSU and OBU. The Lady Bison lead the series 11-8, but the Hillcats won last season's matchup in Claremore, 62-48, behind a 16-point, 8-rebound performance from Hafer.
