Butts Named RSU’s First-Ever MIAA Goalkeeper of the Year; King and Schulze Earn All-MIAA Honorable Mention

The trio was named All-MIAA by the league on Friday afternoon

KANSAS CITY, Mo.Calais Butts made history as RSU's first MIAA Goalkeeper of the Year, while Delana King and Hannah Schulze earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors. The league announced the All-MIAA awards on Friday afternoon after the conclusion of the 2025 regular season.

Butts, a junior transfer from Middle Tennessee State, had a standout first season with the Hillcats. The Edmonton, Canada native started all 17 matches, accumulating 1,530 minutes of play. Her 121 saves, averaging 7.12 saves per game, lead the MIAA and rank fifth in NCAA Division II Women's Soccer. Her single-season save total is tied for the fourth-most in program history alongside Jordan Harris (2013). Additionally, her 16 saves against UT Dallas on Sept. 6 are tied for the second-most in a single game in program history. She finished the season with a goals-against average of 1.82, highlighted by her first career shutout in the win against Missouri Southern on Oct. 5. She was also named to the All-MIAA Third Team.

"I am extremely proud of Cal," head coach Chris Jones commented on Butts winning the prestigious honor. "She worked extremely hard all year, and it showed in games! She was a huge part of keeping us in games this season, and she deserves every bit of this! Couldn't be happier for her!"

King earned her first career All-MIAA accolade after a standout senior season for the Red and Navy. The forward from Owasso, Oklahoma, contributed six points, scoring goals against UT Dallas on Sept. 6, Oklahoma Baptist on Sept. 20 and Emporia State on Oct. 17. In total, she made 17 appearances, including 16 starts, logging 1,132 minutes on the pitch. King also recorded 16 shots, with five on target.

Schulze concluded her time on the Hill with her first career All-MIAA selection. The Claremore native started all 17 matches, logging 2,966 minutes as a key player in midfield and forward attack. She recorded 13 total shots, with four on goal, and scored her fourth career goal in a 3-1 victory over Newman on Oct. 24.
