NORMAN, Okla. - Rogers State men's and women's track and field wrapped up competition at the John Jacobs Invitational on Thursday.
The highlight of the day came in the women's 1,500 meter as Cadence Cordova finished third as the top Division II runner and broke the school record with a time of 4:36.64, which is 2.96 seconds faster than the previous record set by Katie Byrd in 2023. This is the second fastest time in the MIAA and third fastest nationally this season. Byrd finished in ninth with a time of 4:47.81. Kaylee Nay finished in 20th with a new personal best time of 4:54.78, which is 8.94 seconds faster than her previous best. Riley Coleman finished in 26th with a season-best time of 4:59.47, a whopping 12.96 seconds faster than her mark from earlier in the season. Emily Cruz finished in 30th with a time of 5:07.53.
In the men's 1,500 meter, Tyler Colvin finished in 19th with a time of 4:12.88. Nathan Hernandez finished in 20th with a new personal best time of 4:14.40, which was 1.97 seconds faster than his previous best. Clint Stapleton finished in 23rd with a time of 4:15.16. Kyle Ginn finished in 25th with a time of 4:16.47. Julius Oheim finished in 28th with a time of 4:17.97. Colton Storm finished in 36th with a time of 4:23.47.
In the women's 400 meter, Ann-Marie Dorsey finished in 16th with a time of 1:02.63.
In the men's 800 meter, Ian Conder finished in ninth with a time of 1:55.57. DeShawn Crowe finished in 10th with a time of 1:55.64. Isaac Conder finished in 16th with a time of 1:59.32. Solomon Higgins finished in 18th with a time of 1:59.85.Â
In the women's 800 meter, Savanna Wainscott finished in 23rd with a time of 2:25.64. Kenzie Gilliam finished in 24th with a new outdoor personal best time of 2:26.37, which is 1.53 seconds faster than her previous best time from earlier this season.
The Hillcats are back in action on Saturday, April 12 as they travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Arkansas Spring Invitational.
