EMPORIA, Kan. -Â Rogers State men's and women's track and field closed out the final day at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
The highlight of the day came in the men's 1,500 meter as Nathaneal Gibson finished in 10th with a new school record time of 3:54.92, breaking RSU Hall of Famer Baylor Harvey's 2017 time by 0.92 seconds.Â
In the women's 1,500 meter, Cadence Cordova finished in sixth with a time of 4:30.67. Sisely Mitchell finished in ninth with a new personal best time of 4:44.29, improving her top mark by 0.46 seconds. Riley Coleman finished in 16th with a time of 5:04.50.
In the women's 5,000 meter, Katie Byrd finished in 14th with a time of 18:05.05. Rayna Kucharyski finished in 16th with a time of 18:16.76. Emily Cruz finished in 18th with a time of 18:30.82. Kaylee Nay finished in 24th with a time of 19:18.97.
In the men's 5,000 meter, Blake Feron finished in 18th with a time of 15:23.72. Kyle Ginn finished in 19th with a time of 15:29.98. Julius Oheim finished in 20th with a time of 15:45.91.Â
The Hillcats will be back in action on Friday, May 9 as they travel to Azusa, Calif. to compete in the Franson Last Chance.
