LOUISVILLE, Ky. -Â Rogers State softball's Abbey Rogers and Kaylee Lyon have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Central Region team, the organization announced on Thursday.
Rogers was named First Team All-Region. A product of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Rogers finished the regular season with a .487 average along with 46 RBI, nine home runs, a .783 slugging percentage and a .547 on base percentage. She leads the MIAA in OBP and is second in average, slugging percentage, total hits (74) and OPS (1.330), which is on base percentage plus slugging percentage.
Lyon was also named First Team All-Region. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Lyon finished the regular season with a .378 average, 30 RBI, 10 home runs and a .652 slugging percentage.
The Hillcats continue their postseason journey on Thursday, May 8 as the No. 4-seed in the NCAA Central Regional in Edmond, Okla. and face off against familiar foe No. 5-seed Pittsburg State. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
