CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State baseball had five student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1.
Colton Anderson was named a NCBWA All-Region selection earlier this year, as well as picking up Second Team All-MIAA honors. Anderson finished the regular season with an 8-4 record on the mound with a team-leading 2.90 ERA over 77.2 innings with 67 strikeouts. The senior ranked third in the MIAA in ERA and wins and fifth in innings pitched and opposing batting average (.215).
Andrew Ramirez was named First Team All-MIAA earlier this year and earned MIAA Gold Glove honors at second base. Ramirez finished the regular season with a team-leading .333 average with 64 hits, 13 home runs, 59 RBI, 43 runs scored and four home runs. He ranked sixth in the MIAA in RBI and eighth in home runs. The junior tied both the program single-season home run record and the Division II Era single-season RBI record in the regular season finale against No. 19 Fort Hays State. His 13 round-trippers tie him with Blake Kelley (2008) and Cody Campbell (2011). His 59 RBIs tie him with Grant Farris (2019).
Ky Decker earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors earlier this year. Decker earned a 7-2 record on the mound during the regular season with a 5.07 ERA in 71.0 innings pitched with 47 strikeouts.
Jackson Romero also earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention honors earlier this year. Romero finished the regular season with a .259 average, 44 hits, four home runs, 34 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight stolen bases.
Jake Mitchell finished the season batting .229 at the plate with 36 hits, five home runs, 23 RBI, 41 runs scored, 39 walks and 10 stolen bases. The junior became the RSU all-time walks leader with 98 career free passes.
College Sports Communicators (CSC) was founded in 1957 and is a 3,200-plus member national organization comprised of the sports public relations, media relations and communications/information professionals throughout all levels of collegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The second oldest management association in all of intercollegiate athletics, CSC became an affiliated partner with NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in December of 2008. CSC has been the proud provider of the Academic All-America® Program and Hall of Fame since 1952.
