Marshall Named Head Dance Coach

Claremore native returns to alma mater ahead of 2025-26 season

CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State University's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Chris Ratcliff has announced the hiring of Taylor Marshall as the next RSU dance coach.

"We are delighted to welcome Taylor [Marshall] back to the hill to lead the dance program," said Dr. Ratcliff. "She is well-known in the Claremore community, having graduated from Claremore High School and Rogers State. I look forward to seeing her take on this role and elevate the program to new heights."

Marshall officially returned to RSU in May 2025.

"I am thrilled to be back on the hill to coach the RSU Dance Team," Marshall stated. "This year will be a season of growth for the dance program, and I am so proud of what we have already accomplished. I am excited to share the progress of the RSU Dance Team with the community and Hillcat fans."

Marshall has extensive experience in the dance industry, including a competitive dance background. She began dancing at the age of three and trained in various dance styles at Heather's Dance School. Currently, she teaches, choreographs and coaches at Heather's, bringing over 10 years of experience to the role.

The Claremore native earned a bachelor's degree in medical molecular biology from Rogers State in 2017, where she also participated in the president's leadership class. Before that, she served as captain of the Claremore Varsity Dance Team.

In addition to teaching dance, Marshall is a certified teacher with expertise in art education and biological sciences. She taught art at Catoosa Public Schools, biology at Durant High School and computer science at Claremont Elementary. She has also been a stay-at-home mother.

Marshall lives in Sapulpa with her husband, Justin, and their son.
