Parker's First Career Goal Propels No.14 Hillcats to Shutout Win Over UT Tyler

Hillcats have now collected four straight 1-0 victories

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Rogers State Men's Soccer (4-0-1) secured its fourth straight clean sheet with a 1-0 victory against the University of Texas at Tyler (2-1-1) on Wednesday evening at Soldier Field.

Rogers State started the first half with an early advantage, as Hayden Parker found the back of the net in the 11th minute, assisted by Louis Bassett, giving the RSU the 1-0 lead. This marked Parker's first career goal. Despite multiple attempts by the Hillcats to extend their lead, including a shot by Parker in the 15th minute that was saved by UT Tyler's goalkeeper Niclas Becker, the score remained unchanged through the end of the half.

The second half began with the Hillcats maintaining their defensive stance while generating several offensive opportunities. Oliver Hemlin's shot in the 50th minute was saved by Becker, and Grayson Horsley's attempt in the 69th minute met a similar fate. Despite multiple corner kicks and shots on goal, including another save against Noah Preston-Watkins in the 82nd minute, Rogers State could not extend its lead, but they held steady to secure a 1-0 victory.

Jaxon Kendall (4-0-1) recorded his third straight shutout with six shots faced, but only one of the Patriots' shots was on goal - resulting in a team save. Alex Fletcher, Artur Carvalho and Sam Ryder contributed to the defensive showcase with a 90-minute outing.

RSU will return to action on Friday to take on #17 St. Mary's for the non-conference finale in Wichita Falls, Texas. Kick off from Stang Park is slated for a 4:00 p.m.
