INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Rogers State Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics
Dr. Chris Ratcliff has been appointed as an at-large member of the NCAA Division II Management Council. Ratcliff was one of three new at-large representatives selected this year.
"I am excited to continue serving on an NCAA committee in this role on the management council," Dr. Ratcliff said. "I look forward to collaborating with my fellow committee members, the executive board and NCAA colleagues to improve the experience for all NCAA Division II institutions and their student-athletes."
The Management Council comprises 29 members, including a representative from each of the 23 conferences, four at-large members and two student-athletes from the national Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Ratcliff's four-year term will begin Jan. 15, 2027, at the conclusion of the Division II business session during the 2027 NCAA Convention and will run through January 2031. He will join Rob Mallory, the representative from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), on the committee.
The Management Council reports directly to the Executive Board and recommends administrative policies and regulations that govern the division. The council also adopts noncontroversial and intent-based amendments, administrative bylaws and regulations to govern Division II. Additionally, the council is authorized to sponsor legislative proposals for a vote at the annual NCAA Convention; take final action on matters delegated to it by the Executive Board; and review and act on the recommendations of the Division II committee structure and the recommendations of committees with Association-wide functions.
In his 10th year as the head of the RSU Athletics Department, Ratcliff has served on numerous committees at both the national and regional levels. Notably, he chaired the NCAA Division II Legislation Committee last year, a term that ended in August. In March 2025, Ratcliff received the NACDA NCAA Division II Athletic Director of the Year Award.
