PITTSBURG, Kan. – Rogers State track and field collected six top-10 finishes on the final day of the 2026 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Robert W. Plaster Center on Sunday afternoon.
In the men's mile,
Nathaneal Gibson finished seventh with a time of 4:14.50.
Blake Feron placed eighth with a personal best of 4:15.68, while
Clint Stapleton came in 14th with a personal best of 4:18.21. Dylan Sprecker from Pitt State won the race in 4:10.06.
In the men's 3000 meters, Gibson placed 15th at 8:34.57. Feron was 21st in 8:45.57, followed by
Nathan Hernandez in 22nd at 8:48.06.
Aidan Jimenez finished 23rd with a personal best of 8:48.87. Sprecker added another conference title in this event with a time of 8:18.39.
On the women's side,
Cadence Cordova and
Sisely Mitchell earned top-10 finishes for the Red and Navy. Cordova finished fifth with a season best of 4:58.55, and Mitchell took 10
th at 5:10.23. Lexie Fontaine won the race with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:46.65.
In the final race of the conference meet, the women's 3000 meters,
Brooklyn Garafola placed eighth at 10:07.82. Cordova took ninth with a season best of 10:09.72, followed by
Kaylee Nay in 14th at 10:14.22 with a personal best.
Emily Cruz finished 18th at 10:27.57. Pittsburg State's Paige Mullen claimed the title with a provisional mark of 9:49.15.
The Hillcats will open their outdoor season on March 12 at the Dean Pryor Invite in Coffeyville, Kansas, at Veteran Memorial Stadium. The NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place that weekend from March 13-15 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
