OWASSO, Okla. – RSU women's golf claimed its sixth consecutive Hillcat Classic title in dominant fashion Tuesday afternoon at Bailey Ranch Golf Club. This marks the Hillcats' second first-place finish of the year, first in the spring season.
Rogers State won the tournament with a two-round total of 612 (+36). The Cats finished with a team score of 310 (+22) while battling windy conditions in the second round. Redlands Community College finished second place with a score of 649 (+39), while Indian Hills Community College (+81) and William Jewell (+95) rounded out the top three finishing teams.
In total, six Hillcats collected top-10 finishes, including four in the top five.
Freshman
Lou Fourdan led the way with her second top-three finish of the season after a runner-up (career-best) final two-round tally of 151 (+7). The Carnac, France, native moved up two spots with a 75 (+3) in the second round.
Lauren Anderson climbed two spots to achieve her career-best finish in third place, recording a 75 (+3) in the second round for a total two-round score of 153 (+9). Freshman
Clara Ledun, competing in her fourth tournament, secured her highest finish, placing fourth with a score of 154 (+10). Sophomore
Milena Andres recorded her second top-five finish of the season with a score of 156 (+12), good for fifth place.
Senior
Brianna Maddux made a significant leap in the individual standings during round two, jumping eight spots to tie for ninth with a final score of 164 (+20). Junior
Rylan Ashley (IND) finished just one stroke behind Maddux with a score of 165 (+21). Freshman
Lara Foigel and sophomore
Elle Standlee Daniels (IND) tied for 16th with scores of 167 (+23), while sophomore
Brooklyn Worley (IND) finished tied for 23rd with a score of 171 (+27).
RSU will return to action March 16-17 at The Patriot Invitational at The Qual GC in Carmel, California.
