OWASSO, Okla. – Sophomore
Milena Andres leads the way as Rogers State women's golf sits atop the leaderboard after day one at the 11th Annual Hillcats Classic at Bailey Ranch Golf Club. Four Hillcats finished the opening round in the top five, giving RSU a comfortable lead heading into the final round on Tuesday.
RSU finished the day with a score of 302 (+14), 20 strokes ahead of Redlands Community College (+34). Indian Hills Community College (+42) is in third place, followed by South Dakota Mines (+45) in fourth.
Andres is tied for first individually with a one-over-par score of 73 after 18 holes. The Villa Allende, Argentina, native collected birdies on holes one, seven, 11 and 15.
Freshman
Clara Ledun sits in third place with a score of 75 (+3), while fellow freshman
Lou Fourdan is in fourth after carding a 76 (+4). Junior
Lauren Anderson remains in contention with a score of 78 (+5), tied for fifth.
Sophomore
Brooklyn Worley (IND) is tied for 12th with a score of 82 (+10). A trio of Hillcats, including senior
Brianna Maddux, sophomore
Elle Standlee Daniels (IND) and junior
Rylan Ashley (IND), are all tied for 17th, each with a score of 83 (+11). One stroke behind them in a tie for 20th is
Lara Foigel.
Women's golf will wrap up the Hillcat Classic with the final round tomorrow at 9 a.m.
