JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Hillcat men's golf is in 11th after 36 holes of the MIAA Championship, held at the par-72 Jefferson City Country Club.
The Hillcats shot 303 (+15) in the second round, bringing their tournament total to 612 (+36). Despite improving their score by six strokes on Tuesday, they fell to 11th in the team standings, just four strokes shy of seventh place. Central Oklahoma pulled ahead in the team race with a second-round score of six under par, totaling 575 (-1) heading into the final day of competition. Washburn (+14), Central Missouri (+17), Newman (+20) and Missouri Western (+22) round out the top five.
Kobsak Phisitbuntoon jumped 13 spots into a tie for 29th place after shooting a 74 (+2) in the second round, which included three birdies. He is joined in a tie for 29th by sophomore
Callum Brown, who recorded a 76 (+4) with the help of three birdies. The duo has a two-round total of 153 (+9).
Senior
Tyler Collier also shot a 76 (+4) in the second round, placing him in a tie for 33rd with a total score of 154 (+10). Just one stroke behind, junior
Dylan Ros and
Aiden Deng are tied for 39th with scores of 155 (+11).
Rogers State men's golf will conclude play in Jefferson City tomorrow morning, with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
