KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rogers State Men's Soccer (3-0-1) checked in at No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Week 2 poll on Tuesday.
RSU dropped four spots in the rankings despite a 1-0-1 road trip at Rockhurst and UT Tyler. The week began with a dominating 5-1 victory over the Hawks in Kansas City, Missouri, where
Alex Laing led the team with two goals and an assist. Laing earned his third career GAC/MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honor following his impressive performance. The week concluded with a 2-2 draw against the Patriots in Tyler, Texas.
Louis Bassett scored the Cats' first goal in the 88th minute, and
Brandon O'Rourke added the equalizer in the 90th minute.
Rollins College is currently ranked first in the country, followed by Seattle Pacific and North Georgia. Southern Nazarene has entered the poll at 19th, while Fort Hays State has dropped from 14th to 25th.
