Biography

About: Watkins comes to the Hill following a standout career at Vinita High School running for Head Coach Scott Reed. The Vinita, Okla., native helped the Hornets to four cross country conference championships and two runner-up finishes at the state championships along with third and sixth-place results. Vinita won the 2013 Oklahoma track and field state championship placing second the other three years while winning four conference and regional championships during Watkins' four-year career. She was a two-time state qualifier in the 3200 relay and also qualified for the state meet in the 1600 relay as a senior. The daughter of Rod and Shannon Watkins, she said she chose RSU because of "the great visual arts program as well as the athletics and the support of the Cherokee Nation."
