Rogers State University Athletics

Rusty Wood begins his first season as a member of the Rogers State baseball coaching staff.

Prior to joining the Hillcats in the fall of 2013, Wood served as assistant baseball coach for Owasso High School from 2004-2013. In his role with the Rams he was responsible for practice planning, strength and conditioning, middle infielders, and outfielders. Wood was a member of the coaching staff as the Rams won four Oklahoma Class 6A State Championships, including three consecutive titles. Most recently the Rams went 36-0 and finished second in the USA Today National Baseball Rankings.

Wood list of professional players he coached that are currently playing includes; Pete Kozma, Brian Flynn, Austin Kirk, Brandon Bargas, Matt Hoffman, Drew Stiner, Dylan Bundy and a number of players that went onto play collegiately.

Wood is a 2012 graduate of Rogers State University.
