Skyler Ellis

Skyler Ellis is in his sixth year as an assistant coach with the Rogers State baseball team after joining the staff in August 2014.

He works primarily with the hitters and infielders for the Hillcats, while serving as the first base coach. He also plays a vital role in the recruiting efforts of the program and helps organize placement for student-athletes with summer league teams.

A native of Buellton, California, Ellis has worked for the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate summer wood bat league each of the past three summers. He came to RSU following one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California after a stint as the Shawnee Junior High School Head Baseball Coach.

Ellis holds close ties with RSU Head Coach, Chris Klimas, after working together on the staff at OBU during the 2013 season. He also played one season for Coach Klimas in 2012, where he played first, second and third base, while also serving as designated hitter. The Bison finished the season ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll and were one win away from reaching the NAIA World Series.

Prior to his time at OBU, Ellis played one season at NCAA Division II Cal State East Bay starting at all four infield positions after a two-year stint at Allan Hancock, where he earned his Associate in Liberal Arts degree in 2010. He was named first and second team all-conference with the Bulldogs and earned two Gold Glove awards at first base.

Ellis graduated from Oklahoma Baptist in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree in Sport Administration from East Central.
