Chuck Love

Chuck Love enters his first season as assistant coach for the RSU men’s basketball team. Love is no stranger to the Sooner Athletic Conference, as he comes to the Hill after coaching one season at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, and finishing his playing career at Northwestern Oklahoma State.

 

Love played at NWOSU from 2006 to 2008. During his senior campaign he was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Year. In his junior season Love aided the Rangers in reaching the Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball National Championship as they advanced to the round of eight for the first time in program history. Following his playing career at Northwestern Oklahoma State he spent the 2008-09 season as a graduate assistant for the program and helped guide to Rangers to a NAIA National Tournament appearance.

 

Love began his playing career at Missouri State University- West Plains where he was a two-year letter winner. Prior to coaching at WBU, Love spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach for the varsity men’s basketball team at Alva High School (Okla.).

 

Love earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Sports Science from NWOSU in 2008. He and his wife Charmaine reside in Claremore. They have one son, Chuck Love III (5).
