About: Taylor returns for his final season on the Hill after being named honorable mention All-American, Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and second team all-conference as a junior in 2009-2010. He appeared in 31 games, starting in 28, averaging 12.3 points per game. Taylor posted 20 double-figure scoring games, tying his career-high on 2/4/10 when he scored 25 points vs. Mid-America Christian. During his first season at RSU in 2008-09, Taylor earned third team all-conference accolades. The Dallas native scored a career-high 25 points vs. Southern Nazarene on 1/24/09 and set a school record with seven treys against Oklahoma City on 1/15/09. Prior to coming to RSU, he played one year at Northern Arizona and averaged five points and two rebounds for the Division I program.

Barkley on Taylor: “Deveric has been the backbone of our team over the last couple of years. He has been a steady influence for what we do offensively and defensively. He is the reigning defensive player of the year in our league. As long as we can keep Deveric healthy, I think he can have another great season.”
