Biography

About: Buckley is back at RSU for his redshirt junior season following a 2014-15 campaign where he made 26 appearances, earning three starts, including the first of his career at home against Lubbock Christian. The Kellyville, Oklahoma native posted 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game netting a season-high 10 points versus Arlington Baptist. During his sophomore season, Buckley came off the bench to make 25 appearances in 2013-14. He averaged 2.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game turning in a season-best 15 points and seven rebounds against Ouachita Baptist. Buckley took a redshirt during his first season at RSU in 2012-13 after joining the Hillcats following a successful prep career at Kellyville High School. As a senior for the Ponies in 2011-12, he reached the 1,000-point plateau for his career, while averaging 22 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, eight blocks, and four steals. Playing under Head Coach Joe Ballard, he earned first-team all-state, first-team Indian all-state, and Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association Big 8 Star MVP. During the 2010-11 season, he earned All-Conference Big 8 Star as a junior. The son of Sherri Jones and Jackie Buckley, he said he chose RSU because "it's close to home and I liked the facilities, my teammates, and the coaching staff."
