Biography

About: Schoppa returns to RSU for his senior season in 2015-16 after seeing action in one tournament and two rounds for the Hillcats during his tenure. The Houston, Texas native shot his career-low round of 83 at the 2013 NAIA Contender. He came to the Hill from Clements High School where he was a four-year letter winner. His best finish during his senior season was 14th of 260 golfers as he shot 71-74 with the Rangers on his way to earning Co-MVP honors. As a junior, he helped lead the team to a state tournament appearance while becoming the first junior to receive the sportsmanship award, originally awarded only to seniors. The son of Steven Schoppa, he said he chose RSU because of "the great golf team and it's very competitive."
