About: Beaird joins the inaugural RSU track and field team after completing a four-year career on the Hillcat men’s soccer team. As a senior, the Tulsa, Oklahoma native was the top scorer with 11 goals in 17 games leading RSU to a 10-5-3 season earning Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Year and all-conference first team honors. Beaird came to RSU from Union High School where he was a four-year letter winner under Head Coach Cory Butler. As a senior, he netted 11 goals and added nine assists earning a spot on the all-conference team in 2011-12. The son of Troy and Khristie Beaird, he said he chose RSU because of "the great facilities, being close to home, and good atmosphere."
