CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State used three double digit scoring runs in the first half to run away from St. Gregory's for a 74-43 win at the Claremore Expo Thursday evening.

The Hillcats opened the game on an 11-0 run. After five straight points by the Cavaliers, RSU went on a 15-0 run to make it 26-5 with 7:39 to play in the first half. The Cats added a 14-0 run late in the frame to put the game away before halftime.

Four players finished in double figures for RSU led by Azzie Knox who tied a season-high with 14 points. The Hillcats held their opponent to less than 30-percent shooting for the second consecutive game. SGU shot just 28-percent and lost its eleventh straight game. Natalie Melendez earned game-high scoring honors for the Cavs with 17 points. Melody Mattox was the only other SGU player to reach double figures with 10.

The Hillcats led 42-16 at the break and pushed the lead to 31 points late in the second half. The RSU bench contributed 28 points led by freshman Katie Rice who posted 10 points in just 13 minutes of action. Breck Muller tallied a season-high 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and Tasha Parker added 11 for the second consecutive game.

Yoda Woods hauled in 13 boards as the Cats outrebounded the Cavs 45-28. RSU shot 42-percent from the floor and committed only 14 turnovers while dishing out 12 assists.

Rogers State (11-9, 7-5) earned its fourth win in five games and moved into a tie for fifth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings. The Hillcats will host No. 9 Oklahoma Baptist Saturday at the Claremore Expo. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be aired live on RSU Public Television and RSU Radio 91.3 FM.
