CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Ottawa (Kan.) on Tuesday night at Soldier Field.
RSU dominated on offense, taking 15 shots in the game and firing seven on frame. However, the Braves made their eight shots count, putting six of them on target.
After a scoreless opening half the Hillcats came out strong in the second stanza, netting the first goal of the game in the 48th minute. Niall Masterson sent a corner kick to the back post and Bryan Jones was there to head it into the goal.
The RSU lead was short-lived as OU evened the score just three minutes later as Paul Oswald blasted the ball back post past RSU keeper Nathan Inger from 25 yards out.
The Braves earned the game-winner in the 84th minute as Ricky Escalera crossed a free kick into the box where Dominic Sigala chested the ball to his feet and volleyed it into the goal.
