CLAREMORE, Okla. – The 2013 Rogers State women's soccer season didn't kick off the way Hillcat fans had intended as Southern Nazarene claimed a 1-0 victory Tuesday evening at Soldier Field.
Mallary Pineda slotted a ball from the top of the box to the left side, finding the feet of the Crimson Storm's Tatiane Carvalho who delivered a strike to the back post in the 83rd minute.
The Hillcats were limited in their offensive attack totaling just five shots on the evening with one on frame coming off the foot of Kealani Chaidez. The visitors' goal was one of eight attempts on frame for the evening as the Crimson Storm fired off 21 shots on the night.
RSU senior keeper Jordan Harris tallied six saves in the start while SNU goalkeeper Natasha Fuentes tallied just one save in the complete game victory in goal.
The Hillcats move to 0-1-0 with the season opening loss while SNU pushes to 2-1-0 with the victory.
