Full Men's All-District Release | Full Women's All-District Release

AUSTIN, Texas –
Baylor Harvey and Haley Taylor of Rogers State were named to the 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country teams for District Six Friday as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Harvey became the first-ever Heartland Conference champion for the Hillcats winning the cross country title in November setting a school record by 19 seconds in the process as the team placed third. The Oologah, Oklahoma native won each of the final three races for the season and led RSU at all six meets never placing lower than 17th. Harvey carried a 3.9 grade point average through his sophomore year as a Sport Management major.

Taylor helped the Hillcats to a second-place finish at the 2014 Heartland Conference Women's Cross Country Championship earning honorable mention all-conference accolades by placing 16th. During the inaugural track season, the Collinsville, Oklahoma native ran the seventh-fastest time at 1,500 meters and the eighth-fastest at 5,000 meters. The junior has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA during her three years on the Hill while majoring in Psychology.

The accolades for Harvey and Taylor are the first in their respective sports for RSU. With the honors, the Hillcats have now had 17 different student-athletes selected for the prestigious award. Both student-athletes now will be on the ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America® team, which be announced in late June.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
