WACO, Texas – Rogers State senior
Lauren Schuldt was named the Heartland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the Heartland Conference on Wednesday (Jan. 2) morning.
Schuldt, a senior from Fayetteville, Ark., led the Hillcats to a win over Missouri Valley College on Saturday, the navy and red's fourth straight victory, and finished just short of a triple-double. The senior paced RSU with 15 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in the 66-56 win at the Claremore Expo Center. She finished 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and pulled down eight offensive rebounds. Schuldt added two blocks and leads the league in blocks with 30 on the season.
This is Schuldt's first player of the week award this season and the second of her career. She was named the league player of the year for the first time during her junior season.
For the season, Schuldt is averaging a team-best 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in 13 starts.
The Hillcats have won four straight games, moving to 7-6 overall with the victory over the Vikings on Saturday. RSU starts Heartland Conference action on Jan. 10 against Newman at 5:30 p.m. at the Claremore Expo Center.
