WACO, Texas - Rogers State's Andrea Morales was named the Heartland Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Feb. 18 – Feb. 24.
 
Morales was light out this week in two starts, allowing just one unearned run in 14 innings of work in wins over Central Missouri and conference foe St. Edward's. The sophomore scattered 10 hits and had just two walks while striking out eight batters.
 
Opponents hit just .189 against her with only two extra-base hits in 53 opponents at bats. Morales leads the conference in opponent's batting average, innings pitched and strikeouts this season.
 
This is Morales' second-straight Pitcher of the Week award this season. She is part of a sweep of the awards for softball this week, as Rylee DeLozier was named Hitter of the Week. Rogers State has swept the honors for consecutive weeks.
 
Morales and the rest of the Hillcats will return to action when they host St. Mary's University in Heartland Conference play later this week.
