MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Rogers State Men's Basketball team fell to No. 2 Northwest Missouri State 74-55 Monday night.

The Hillcats started the game going up 5-0 on the Bearcats and would hold the lead until midway through the half, when the hosts tied it at 10.

The Bearcats would take the lead after tying the game and never relinquish it again. The Hillcats would fight to keep the game close as the went into halftime down by five, with
Marques Sumner sinking a three-point shot before the buzzer sounded for halftime. The Hillcats would trail the Bearcats 32-27 at the midway point.

At the beginning of the second half the Hillcats would cut the lead to three points, but that would be the closest the team would get to retaking the lead again in the game. The Bearcats would go on a 15-0 run late in the second half to solidify the game.

The Hillcats will take on Nebraska-Kearney next as they return home to the Claremore Expo Center on Thursday, January 9. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
