AUSTIN, Texas- The Rogers State Women's golf team sits in 11
th place after the first round of the St. Edwards' Women Invitational at Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas.

How it Happened: Rogers State opened up the tournament paired in a group with host St. Edward's. The Hillcats started the opening nine holes with just a pair of birdies. On the back nine of the North Course, the Hillcats added four more birdies.

Rogers State carded four rounds in the 70s as a team, shooting a round of 313 to sit in the middle portion of the 16-team field.

Players of Note: Jessica Green led the Hillcats shooting a 77 to finish tied for 28
th place. Green had two birdies and 10 pars.

Mariana Flores finished one shot behind Green with a 78, tied 36
th after day one. She finished with 10 pars in her first round.

Raquel Flores and
Grace Williams both shot a 79 and finish tied for 41
st place. Raquel had 11 pars. Williams would tally two birdies and seven pars.

Jaelynn Unger, in her collegiate debut, would round out the Hillcats scorecard with an 81, tied for 53
rd place. Unger would have two birdies and five pars.

What It Means: The Hillcats will enter the final day looking to close in on a top 10 finish as they are only three shots behind the tenth-place team, Southwestern Oklahoma State and six shots off of sixth place, currently held by three teams in a tie at +27.
