Hillcats Roll Against Randall In Home Opener

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State men's basketball (2-0) rolled to a 92-41 victory in the home opener against Randall (0-8) on Thursday.

The game marked the first time the Hillcats had scored at least 90 points in a game since scoring 121 against Bacone in December of 2019, and also marked first time they had won by at least 50 points since then.

In total, five Hillcats finished in double figures. Both Gerren Jackson and Joey Sarraco led the squad with double-doubles that included 13 points apiece with Jackson adding 12 rebounds and Sarraco adding 11 rebounds. These were the first double-doubles of both Jackson and Sarraco's RSU careers.

Both Devin Pullum and Preston Lawrence posted 11 points with Pullum adding two rebounds and an assist and Lawrence adding five rebounds and two assists. Jordan Coblin contributed 10 points with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Hillcats wasted no time as they opened the game on a 25-3 run. They would go on to take their largest lead of the half at 52-11 with just over a minute left in the period, and eventually took a 53-13 advantage into the break.

With some younger guys seeing some action in the second half, the Saints kept the margin in check for most of the period. RSU took its largest lead of the game at 92-39 with just under a minute left. They eventually took the win 92-41.

The Hillcats will be back in action at the Claremore Expo Center on Saturday, Nov. 20 as they play host to Barclay College in second game of the three game homestand. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
