CLAREMORE, Okla. – After making it to the MIAA Championship game in 2021, Rogers State softball released the schedule for the 2022 season on Tuesday.
 
The slate includes games against eight teams that made the 2021 NCAA Tournament, including two MIAA teams (Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma) and Augustana who made it to the national quarterfinals.
 
The Hillcats will kick off the 2022 campaign on Feb. 4 in Conroe, Texas at the Houston Classic. They will face off against Texas A&M International in the season opener with other tournament opponents including Augustana (Feb. 4), Angelo State (Feb. 5), Texas A&M-Kingsville (Feb. 5), Colorado School of Mines (Feb. 6) and Texas Woman's (Feb. 6).
 
The following weekend they will compete in the OC/UCO Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma Christian and Central Oklahoma, on Feb. 11. In the tournament, they will face off against Southwestern Oklahoma State (Feb. 11), Southern Nazarene (Feb. 12), Oklahoma Christian (Feb. 12), Midwestern State (Feb. 13) and Cameron (Feb. 13).
 
RSU will play in one more early season tournament on Feb. 18 which will also by hosted by OC and UCO. The Hillcats will face off against Harding (Feb. 18), Southern Arkansas (Feb. 19), Cameron (Feb. 19), Lubbock Christian (Feb. 20) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (Feb. 20).
 
The Hillcats will open up the home schedule on Feb. 26 with a non-conference doubleheader against Texas Woman's at the Diamond Sports Complex. Other non-conference home contests included UT Tyler (Feb. 27) and Harding (April 19). The road non-conference slate includes trips to Southwestern Oklahoma State (March 22) and Arkansas Tech (March 29).
 
RSU will compete in a final tournament at the Drury Classic in Springfield, Missouri on March 4. There, they will matchup with William Jewell (Feb. 4), host Drury (Feb.4 and 5) and Southwest Baptist (Feb. 5).
 
The Hillcats will begin MIAA play at home on March 12 as they play host to Northeastern State. Other home conference doubleheaders include Pittsburg State (March 25), Missouri Southern (March 26), Lincoln (April 1), Central Missouri (April 2), Fort Hays State (April 29) and Nebraska-Kearney (April 30).
 
RSU will take their first MIAA road trip on April 8 to Missouri Western. They will also make trips to Northwest Missouri (April 9), Newman (April 15), Central Oklahoma (April 16), Emporia State (April 22) and Washburn (April 23).
 
The MIAA Tournament is set for May 4-8.
