PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Rogers State women's track & field team wrapped up the 6
th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic on Saturday with three more events and another school record at the Robert W. Plaster Center on the campus of Pittsburg State University.
On top of the school record, three Hillcats also set personal best times in their events.
Key Performances: For the second-straight day,
Brianna DeAngelis broke one of her own records. The sophomore set a new personal best and school record by over 4.5 seconds in the 3,000-meter run with a seventh-place finish in the event. DeAngelis broke the previous record of 10:53.09 from the season opener this year by crossing the line with a 10:48.42.
Ashley Riggenbach and
Elena Fries also turned in personal bests on the afternoon. The duo ran nearly identical times in the mile run despite running in different sections. Riggenbach led the way, crossing the line at 5:27.29, while Fries crossed the line at 5:27.64. Riggenbach's time was 13.9 seconds faster than her previous best, while Fries turned in a time almost six seconds faster than her previous best.

Up Next: Rogers State will now set its sights on the MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in two weeks. The Hillcats will return to the site of the season opener, with Washburn hosting the championship event on February 27-28 in Topeka, Kansas.
